Terms of Service

Welcome to Khata Saaz, a digital khata (ledger) and business management service for Pakistani SMBs. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility and account
You must be at least 18 years old and authorised to act for the business you register. You are responsible for keeping your phone, OTP code, and any password secure. You must give accurate information when you sign up; misrepresenting your business or your role on the account is grounds for termination.
2. What the service does
Khata Saaz lets you record sales, purchases, payments, parties (customers and suppliers), products, and inventory. It can send WhatsApp and SMS notifications to your parties on your behalf. Future releases will include FBR e-invoicing, payment collection through licensed wallet integrators, and reporting. We add and remove features over time.
3. Your data and FBR compliance
You own the business records you put into Khata Saaz. We process them only to provide the service to you. You are responsible for the accuracy of the records and for your own tax filings, FBR submissions, and statutory compliance. Khata Saaz is a tool; it is not tax, legal, or accounting advice. We will offer e-invoicing integrations as they become available, but the legal duty to file correct returns stays with you.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Khata Saaz to spam your customers, send harassing or misleading messages, conduct fraud, or break Pakistani law. Misuse of WhatsApp or SMS notifications can get the channel suspended for the whole platform; we will suspend or terminate accounts that put others at risk.
5. Pricing
During the M0 build the service is free. We will publish pricing before introducing paid plans and will give existing accounts reasonable notice (at least 30 days) before any plan you must pay for begins charging.
6. Intellectual property
We own the Khata Saaz software, brand, and content. You keep ownership of your data; we get a limited licence to host and process it strictly to provide the service. You can export your data and close your account at any time.
7. Termination
You can stop using Khata Saaz any time. We may suspend or close your account if you violate these Terms, if your activity threatens platform integrity, or if a regulator or court requires it. We will tell you the reason unless we are legally prevented from doing so.
8. No warranty
The service is provided 'as is'. We don't promise it will be free of bugs, that every feature will keep working forever, or that calculations or reports are fit for any particular tax-filing purpose. Use the service with the same care you would use any business tool: keep backups, double-check totals, get professional tax advice when stakes are high.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by Pakistani law, Khata Saaz is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or losses arising from inaccurate user-entered data. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or PKR 10,000, whichever is greater.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Disputes will be resolved by the courts at Islamabad, Islamabad Capital Territory.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will tell registered users by email or in-app notice when we do. Continuing to use the service after the change means you accept the new Terms.
